Continuous Enrollment Contract & Financial Profile

At American Institute allied with Thornton Academy, we use the process of continuous enrollment. The continuous enrollment contract that you sign electronically for the 2024-2025 year will be the only enrollment contract you will be asked to sign during your childʼs tenure at American Institute allied with Thornton Academy. The continuous enrollment contract enrolls the student for the coming academic year until the student graduates or withdraws from AITA. Annually, families will see the financial profile which includes tuition details and payment plan options in the familyʼs billing account on AITA portal.

Year 1: Continuous Enrollment Contract & 2024-2025 Financial Profile

Year 2: 2024-2025 Financial Profile will be posted to your family's AITA portal. (This will continue annually through graduation)

    Continuous Enrollment Contract

This CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT CONTRACT (“Contract”) is entered into as of the day it is electronically signed and submitted by and between American Institute allied with Thornton Academy (“AITA”) and the Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s) (the “Parents”) (collectively, the “Parties”) whose signatures appear in the eSignature section, as it pertains to the Student listed above (the “Student”).

In consideration of the mutual promises set forth herein, the Parties agree to the following terms and conditions governing the Studentʼs enrollment and attendance at American Institute allied with Thornton Academy:

    • Enrollment: Commencing with the 2024-2025 Academic Year (as defined herein), Parents hereby enroll the Student at AITA until (a) the Student graduates from the highest grade taught at AITA or (b) the Parents notify AITA in writing of their desire to withdraw the Student from the same, whichever occurs first. Academic Year means the period each year commencing on July 1 and continuing through June 30 of the following year.

    • Student/Parent Handbook (Rules): Upon enrollment, the Parents and Student agree to support all rules of AITA, as outlined in The Student/Parent Handbook, and as the same may be amended from time to time. In their engagement with AITA, Parents are expected to treat all members of the AITA community with decorum and respect. AITA reserves the right to terminate this Contract if the Parents harass or treat AITAʼs employees disrespectfully. In situations involving violation of a major school rule or serious academic problem, or if at any time the Studentʼs influence or presence is considered harmful or undesirable, AITA reserves the right to require immediate withdrawal or dismissal. Falsification of application or enrollment records is cause for immediate dismissal of student.

    • Financial Obligations: AITA will assemble a financial profile annually for Student, and provide Parents with access to the same. The financial profile will disclose the cost of tuition (less any applicable scholarships, or discounts), and other applicable fees or awards for the upcoming Academic Year (collectively, “Student Tuition”). Parents hereby agree to pay Student Tuition for each Academic Year Student is enrolled in AITA, without demand, by the dates set forth by AITA, or in accordance with any applicable payment plan (if offered).

    • Payment of Student Tuition according to any applicable payment plan does not fractionalize this Contract or in any way relieve the Parents of the responsibility for payment of the Student Tuition for the entire Academic Year (or the pro-rata portion thereof in the case of late acceptance).

    • Payment of Student Tuition according to any applicable payment plan does not fractionalize this Contract or in any way relieve the Parents of the responsibility for payment of the Student Tuition for the entire Academic Year (or the pro-rata portion thereof in the case of late acceptance).

    • Parents agree that if payment of Student Tuition is not made in accordance with this Contract for any applicable Academic Year, AITA reserves the right to take any of the following actions: refuse to admit the Student to class, terminate this Contract, suspend charging privileges, and withhold grade reports, transcripts and the diploma.

    • The remaining unpaid balance, if any, due for an Academic Year shall become immediately due and payable in full at the option of AITA, without notice, presentment, or demand of any kind, all of which are hereby waived by the Parents upon the occurrence of any of the following events: the withdrawal or dismissal of the Student for the upcoming Academic Year for any reason after May 2 or the failure of the Parents to pay Student Tuition by the date any payment(s) required in connection with it are due. The Parents shall be responsible for AITAʼs cost of collection, including attorney and court fees.

    • Schoolʼs Discretion: Because of the unique nature of the academic environment, AITA reserves the right to exercise its discretion, based upon its assessment of the circumstances, when making decisions as to grades, scheduling, curriculum, academic merit, achievement, advancement, special assistance, discipline, extracurricular activities, athletic participation, awards, standing, and return to AITA in subsequent Academic Years. AITAʼs obligations under this Contract for each Academic Year are contingent upon Student successfully completing the requirements established by AITA in the preceding Academic year for Student to advance to the next grade level.

    • Binding: Parents acknowledge, understand, and agree that AITA may prohibit Student from attending classes at AITA during any given Academic Year if Parents fail to pay Student Tuition for that Academic Year, including, but not limited to, any tuition deposits, on the dates such payments are due; AITA may continue to prohibit Student from attending AITA for as long as any applicable Student Tuition remains due and outstanding.

    • Waiver: AITA is not deemed to have waived any of its rights under this or any other Contract signed by the Student and/or the Parents unless such waiver is in writing and signed by an authorized representative of AITA. No delay or omission on the part of AITA in exercising any rights shall operate as a waiver of any of its rights. AITAʼs waiver of any right on any one occasion shall not be construed as a bar to or waiver of any right or remedy on any future occasion.

    • Invalidity: Whenever possible, each provision of this Contract shall be interpreted in such a manner as to be effective and valid under applicable law; however, if any provision shall be prohibited or declared invalid under applicable law, such provision shall be ineffective to the extent of such prohibition or invalidity without invalidating the remainder of such provision or the remainder of the provisions of this Contract.
